Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-29

These terms govern your use of Lucien. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country. If you use Lucien on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you can bind that organization, and “you” includes it.

Call data and transcripts

Call audio is processed by voice and telephony providers to carry out the conversation. Transcripts and summaries are saved to provide your results and call history. Providers process call content under their applicable data policies.

The service

Lucien uses an AI agent to place outbound phone calls to individuals, businesses and organizations on your behalf — for example to relay a personal message, ask about availability, prices, or to make a reservation — and returns transcripts and a summary. The agent identifies itself as an AI and explains transcription and authorized staff review at the start of the interaction. It asks permission to continue before carrying out the enquiry.

Purchases in the iPhone app

Purchases in the iPhone app are processed by Apple In-App Purchase. Apple provides the purchase confirmation and manages App Store billing and refunds under its applicable rules. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple account. The price, allowance and renewal period are shown before purchase. Deleting your AskLucien account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Web payments are processed separately by Stripe.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials confidential — you are responsible for activity under your account. If your account belongs to an organization, its owners and admins can manage members, and calls placed by any member draw on the organization’s credit. Keep your saved contact details accurate: the agent may give them to the recipient when a booking or callback needs them.

Your responsibilities & acceptable use

You must use the service lawfully. You are solely responsible for the instructions you give and for ensuring calls you request comply with all applicable laws — including telemarketing, robocall, do-not-call, and consent rules in the relevant jurisdictions. You may not use the service for spam, harassment, fraud, impersonation of a real person other than yourself, automated bulk calling outside the features we provide, calls to emergency services, or any unlawful or deceptive purpose. We block certain high-risk destinations (such as premium-rate numbers) and apply anti-fraud limits, especially on new accounts.

Credit purchase terms

600 welcome credits when you save a card, valid for one calendar month. Each card and account receives them once.

Packs are valid for 1 to 12 months from successful payment: the bigger the pack, the longer it lasts. Buying a pack does not change your subscription renewal date. These validity periods apply to packs purchased on the website.

Unused subscription credits accumulate while your subscription continues. If you cancel, they expire at the end of your final paid period. If renewal fails, credits remain available during any provider grace period, then freeze during payment recovery. Successful recovery restores them; they expire if recovery ends without payment. Credits expiring first are used first.

An upgrade charges the full new monthly price, grants the full allowance and starts a new billing month. There is no monetary proration or refund. Accumulated credits remain available while subscribed, including after an upgrade or downgrade. Downgrades and cancellation take effect at renewal.

Business tiers are monthly subscriptions that include credits and team features. Included credits follow the subscription rules above and pay for the same calls as personal plans. Business workspaces can also buy one-time packs. When a tier ends, future campaign calls pause and active calls finish.

Prices include applicable tax. Tax does not reduce your credit allowance. No purchase or upgrade happens without your choice.

Calls use the same number of credits on every plan.

Choose a pack and a credit threshold. Each automatic purchase uses that pack’s price, allowance and validity. Previous automatic top-up settings stay disabled until you accept these terms again. A saved payment method is required.

Converted legacy credits keep their original expiry dates. Buying more credits never extends an older lot.

Your statutory withdrawal and refund rights remain unchanged. Call billing corrections return credits to their original lots and expiry dates. Payment refunds and disputes reverse the associated purchased credits.

Saved cards and future payments

By saving your card, you authorize AskLucien to store your payment method securely with Stripe and charge it for purchases you confirm and, only if you separately enable them, subscription renewals or automatic top-ups, including when you are not using the service. Saving a card does not itself make a purchase or enable a subscription or automatic top-up.

The amount of each purchase is shown before you confirm it. Subscription prices and renewal intervals are shown before you subscribe. Automatic top-ups occur when your chosen credit threshold is reached, at the price of your selected pack. You can disable automatic top-ups or cancel web subscriptions in billing settings; cancellation stops future renewals after the current paid period. Saved cards can be managed in billing settings.

API & programmatic access

If you use our API, MCP endpoint, or webhooks, these terms apply to that use too. Keep your API keys secret — requests authenticated with your key are yours. We may apply rate limits and may evolve or retire API features with reasonable notice where practical.

Your content & results

You keep all rights to the instructions and information you give us. You grant us the license needed to operate the service — to place your calls, store your transcripts and summaries, and show you the results. We use your content to provide and secure the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

AI limitations

The agent is automated and may misunderstand, mishear, or be unable to complete a task. We do not guarantee any particular call outcome, that a business will answer, or the accuracy of collected information. Verify anything important — a reservation, a price, an opening time — before relying on it.

Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You are responsible for third-party claims that arise from instructions you give in breach of these terms.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a risk to the service or others. You may stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time; data handling on deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes, governing law & contact

We may update these terms and will revise the date above; material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are governed by the laws of France, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence, including any right to use local consumer mediation.
